What’s that: “Hairstylists are moving away from poker straight hair and going for fuller versions, says Sudeep Grover, Lakmé India, national hair trainer. “A little bit of volume is sexier and much more touchable. The great thing about this look is that it’s achievable for most hair types. Using the correct product does half the work. Hair can be blow-dried and set on rollers for instant movement and volume for a glamorous look.”

Prep: Wash and condition your hair with a volumising shampoo and a nourishing conditioner. Apart from cleansing your hair thoroughly, this will also leave it looking glossy and fuller. “Towel-dry and apply a volumising gel crème to the mid-lengths and ends. Follow this with a root-boosting spray on the roots and comb through. The styling products will not only help you achieve the desired style but will also protect the hair from the heat of the dryer,” says Sudeep.
Style: Blow-dry your hair with a paddle brush. Mist your hair with a firm-hold styling spray. Divide into sections and wind onto self-holding Velcro rollers. Heat set the hair for 10 minutes.
Set: “Remove the rollers and gently run your fingers through to make it look more natural. Finish with a bit of shine spray,” says Sudeep.
Look 2: Taking wing
What’s that: Clint Fernandes, Lakmé make-up expert, says, “Priyanka Chopra does her eyes with a winged liner and mascara. Her brows are defined and the cheeks have a rosy hue to them. She uses bronzer to give her face definition and glow. She always sports matte lip colours in deeper shades. This look is an exciting choice for the season.”

Skin: “Prep the skin with a moisturiser and follow with a liquid foundation for a natural glow,” suggests Clint. “Use concealer where needed and finish with a translucent powder for normal skin or a compact for oily or combination skin.”
Eyes: Use a neutral toffee or caramel shade and define the sockets with a darker colour. Start the eyeliner from the inner corner of the eye and move outwards and upwards. This can also be done with a kohl pencil. Go thicker towards the ends for the wings. Add the finishing touches with mascara.
Lips: It’s crucial to line the entire lip with a lip liner of the same colour as the lipstick, which, for this look has to be red. “Keep the line a bit thick towards the inside of the lip. This way you can adjust the shape and correct it. Start to fill in the lip colour from the inside moving outwards. Make sure you leave some space between the lip colour and the outer lip line. This will prevent the colour from bleeding out. Use a dash of red or transparent lip gloss just in the centre for a luscious pout.”
Keep it clean
“Katrina Kaif totally represents the refreshing young and bubbly look,” says Clint. “It’s bright and sparkly. The eyes are iridescent and have some shine on them. Use a mascara to define the lashes and a cream blush with gloss on the cheeks. Opt for a light pink lip colour and gloss, and voila! You can step out looking bright and cheery.”
